"Karun Nair in great space as a cricketer", reveals close friend Manish Pandey

Despite scoring only 205 runs in the England series, Karun Nair looked the part, and showed he can come up with better performances.

The Maharaja Trophy 2025 is currently underway and despite a poor start for Mysore Warriors, there are a lot of expectations from the Karun Nair-led team. Manish Pandey is the other senior pro in the team, and the 35-year-old couldn’t be happier for his state-mate, for making a comeback in the Indian team after a gap of eight years.

Manish Pandey On Karun Nair’s India Comeback

Speaking exclusively with InsideSport, Manish Pandey wished that every player got an opportunity to come back in the Indian setup. he also added that Karun Nair is in a great space as a cricketer, after losing out on crucial years of cricket in between.

“More than inspirational, I’m happy for a friend who has played cricket himself at the highest level, and had a weak time in the middle. He has now made a comeback with the amount of runs he has scored in domestic cricket, which was unbelievable. I’m happy for him, and wish the same for the everybody else too.

“In a Very Good Spot”

“Karun’s is a great story, turned around his cricket in the past couple of years. He is in a very good spot, as you would want to be as a cricketer,” Manish Pandey said. Meanwhile, Karun played four Tests in England, where he went on to score 205 runs, including a fifty as well.

As far as the Maharaja Trophy is concerned, the 33-year-old is yet to play, since the batter is nursing a finger injury that he sustained during the last Test of the series at the Oval.
