Karun Nair certain for England Tests in June? Makes strong case with 100 in Ranji Trophy final

Ranji Trophy final: Karun Nair brought up his third 100 of the season, to go with three fifties as well.

Karun Nair is in sizzling form, and he is just unstoppable. After his stellar run in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, he is continuing his magical run in the Ranji Trophy too, and most importantly in the final of the tournament. After rescuing his team in Vidarbha vs Kerala, in the first innings by scoring 86, Karun scored a potential match-winning ton, his third of the season.

Karun Nair Brings Up 100 in Ranji Trophy Final

After Vidarbha managed to take a slender lead of 37 in the first innings, the side was in a bit of a spot of bother at 7/2, but Karun Nair pulled things back from there on, to slam a commanding ton in just 184 deliveries, including 7 fours and two sixes. Just to talk about his record this year, in his 9 matches, so far he has scored 821 runs at an average of over 54.

Should be Considered for IND vs ENG Tests

His innings means, that he has put up a strong case for an inclusion into the Indian side for the upcoming IND vs ENG Tests in June. It is to be reminded, that after his stellar run in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he scored 779 runs in 9 matches, at an average of 389.. he ensured that the selectors did discuss about him for the recent England ODI series.

As far as the Ranji Trophy final match between Vidarbha and Kerala is concerned, in the first innings, the hosts scored 379 runs. Kerala followed that up with a score of 342, with skipper Sachin Baby scoring 98. Currently, on the fourth day, Vidarbha has a comfortable lead of over 200 runs, with over a day to go in the match.
