Unbeaten Atharva Taide stands tall for Vidarbha
Atharva Taide made the most of his opportunity with a fine century on Day 1 of the Irani Cup 2025. The left-hander held his end to bat out the day in Nagpur. Taide, who played for Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, stitched a 184-run stand for the third wicket with Yash Rathod. Vidarbha had slipped to 80/3, but Taide ensured it was a productive day for the Ranji Trophy champions.
Akash Deep makes return to fitness
Akash Deep struggled with injury on India’s tour of England. He was subsequently omitted from the India squad for the West Indies series. Deep returned to domestic cricket with Rest of India in the Irani Trophy. He bowled with the new ball, bowling 14 overs, picking up 2/35.
