India cricket team pacer Anshul Kamboj started off his career on a bright note on Day 1 of IND vs ENG 4th Test at Old Trafford. The fast bowler was added to India’s squad just before the Manchester Test after Arshdeep Singh and Nitish Kunar Reddy were ruled out. Kamboj picked up one wicket for 48 runs on Day 2 of the contest, being the only other wicket-taker apart from Ravindra Jadeja.
Kamboj reveals plans for Day 3
Speaking on JioHotstar, Kamboj revealed that his plan was to hit the right areas and he was able to execute that on day 2. He said that his strategy would be to restrict boundaries as England were more keen on scoring them rather than taking singles.
“I tried to put in more effort during my first two spells. In the third spell, I focused on backing my strengths and sticking to my areas. Tomorrow, we’ll look to bowl in good areas again and try to dismiss them as quickly as possible. The key will be to restrict boundaries because they seem more focused on hitting fours rather than taking singles,” Kamboj said.
IND vs ENG 4th Test so far
England will begin Day 3 at 225/2, trailing India by 133 runs. England’s openers Ben Duckett (94) and Zak Crawley (84) dominated with a 166-run stand after India posted 358. But with no penetration from bowlers in the 2nd and early third session, India struggled. Joe Root and Ollie Pope will resume the batting duties and India will eye quick early wickets.
