How much is the IPL prize money for 2024? Explained

In 2023, Chennai Super Kings received a total sum of INR 20 crore as IPL prize money after becoming champions.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is the most lucrative domestic T20 event in the world, therefore the winners also get significant prize money. In this article, we will give you the detailed information about IPL prize money and how much amount the winning teams and runners-up will receive.

The IPL prize money has increased fourfold since its beginning in 2008. As per reports, the prize money for teams has been set at INR 46.5 crore, with INR 20 crore going to the winning team and Rs 13 crore to the runners-up. The third-place team earns INR 7 crore, with the fourth-place team taking home INR 6.5 crore.

The individual prize amounts have increased throughout time to make the league more alluring, and this has been maintained for the past few of seasons. The Orange Cap, which goes to the batsman scoring the most runs, comes with a cash prize of Rs. 15 lakh, while the Purple Cap, which goes to the bowler taking the most wickets, also comes with the equal prize money.
