Jaiswal & Gill for Asia Cup
Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill, who haven’t played T20Is since July 2024, are expected to make a return to the format. Both are likely to be included in India’s squad for the Asia Cup 2025. Sai Sudharsan, who had a blockbuster IPL 2025, is likely to make the cut as well.
Samson to stay with RR
Sanju Samson won’t leave RR before the IPL 2026 auction. It was rumoured that CSK is interested in having the wicketkeeper batter in their team. However, it doesn’t seem like RR wants to part ways with their captain. Samson had recently met with RR’s Head of International Player Development as well.
Bumrah, not the boss
Some people online believe that Jasprit Bumrah is picking and choosing which Test matches to play. However, that isn’t the case at all. A proper plan has been put in place by BCCI’s medical team to ensure Bumrah can be of service to the Indian team for as long as possible.

Pakistan’s Olympics complain to ICC
In the coming days, PCB will write to the ICC regarding its displeasure with the qualification process for the LA 2028 Olympics. The ICC is following a regional qualification model by which Pakistan won’t qualify. The PCB wants the model to be changed to a ranking-based one.
Prasidh Krishna for Shami?
Prasidh Krishna’s childhood coach, P. Srinivasa Murthy, thinks his protégé can be a regular for India in SENA Tests. Murthy points out that Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami won’t play regularly now. This means someone has to take their place other than Mohammed Siraj. He suggests that the replacement pacer can be Prasidh.
Not Gill, Gambhir is in-charge
Dinesh Karthik thinks that India head coach Gautam Gambhir is in charge of the team. Previously, the captain had the most power, but now it appears the coach holds it all. Karthik suggests that Gambhir must now take all the blame when the team fails since he gets the credit for their success.
