IND Vs AUS: The Indian women's team are on the verge of losing the only Test, having lost six wickets, and still trailing by 20 runs.

Come the day two of the only Test in Perth, Indian women under Harmanpreet Kaur, would have expected for a better show against the Aussies. But then, it was the same old story from the first innings, where despite getting starts, the batters failed to capitalise, and as a result, we are staring at a big defeat already. At stumps, IND are 105/6, and still trail by 20.

InsideSport takes a look at the events that defined the DAY 2 of the IND vs AUS Test.

Take a bow, Annabel Sutherland

Annabel Sutherland is soon becoming one of the finest all-rounders in the world. First she four wickets in the first innings, then scored a 129 for AUS, and now in the third innings of the match, already has two wickets. One would not be surprised, if she ends up winning the POTM award.

Sayali Satghare — a new star in the making

This all-rounder could be the one for the future. In her very first Test innings, she ended up with figures of 4/50, swinging the ball in both directions. She looked in control throughout the innings, and did not give easy runs to the opposition. She in fact was the one who broke the partnership between Alana King and Lucie Hamilton.

Harmanpreet Kaur in Tests?

This is something that the skipper has to look into, herself. At 36, the call she needs to take is, if she wants to continue playing the format. Not that women’s Tests happen regularly, but she has not been the best, in whatever handful of matches that have come her way. IN the second India innings too, she was out cheaply for 11.

Can India avoid innings defeat?

On day 3, it is for certain, that the Indian team will be beaten. Now, it only remains to be seen, if they will be beaten by an innings, or will they be able to set some sort of a target. In both cases, it will be a crushing defeat; and the team will have to re-look into their strategy and talent pool — after the World Cup win bubble.
