The ED has summoned former India cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Robin Uthappa in relation of a probe for an online betting platform, as per a report in India Today. Both the players have been asked to record statements of September 22, 23 under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
No respite for Indian legends in betting app case
The players from Karnataka and Punjab had appeared in ads for 1xBet. Apart from that, earlier, Shikhar Dhawan was summoned as well by the ED, along with Suresh Raina, for endorsing such companies. In fact, Dhawan was questioned for eight hours, as per various reports.
Meanwhile, all the crackdown on such platforms is happening after repeated advisories by the government. For the same reason, the BCCI discontinued its association with Dream11, who were the former lead sponsor. On Tuesday, the Indian team got new sponsors in the form of Apollo Tyres.

The deal will run until 2027, covering nearly 121 bilateral fixtures and 21 ICC matches in the period. The total valuation of the deal is Rs 579 Crore, around 200 Cr more than what Dream11 offered. This too comes at a time, when the team is busy playing the Asia Cup 2025, without a sponsor on their jersey.
