WPL 2023: Harmanpreet Kaur rode her luck on Sunday as she took Mumbai Indians to their 4th consecutive win in the Women’s Premier League. The MI skipper smashed her second half-century of the season, in a perfect show of aggressive batting to keep her side at the top of the table. Harmanpreet however would have had a long walk back early if not for some luck, after an Anjali Sarvani delivery hit her leg stump but failed to knock over the bails. Harmanpreet Kaur had the luck gods favouring her as the Mumbai Indian star survived a close call during her game against the UP Warriorz. The Incident occurred in the 11th over of the innings as MI were at the start of their rebuild phase. Harmanpreet was circumspect and walked too far across with Anjali Sarvani breaching her defence down the leg side.
The slower ball completely deceived the MI skipper and hit the stumps sparking celebrations from wicketkeeper Alyssa Healy. However, those were short-lived as the bail popped up and landed itself again on the stumps. Healy’s expression went from ecstasy to misery as she had her hands on her head. The close-in fielders were also left in shock as the bail failed to dislodge from the stumps.

At the time of the incident, Kaur was batting on 7 of 11 deliveries. She then pressed the accelerator, eventually scoring a half-century off just 31 balls. The MI captain remained unbeaten on 53 off just 33 balls, smoking 9 fours and a solitary maximum.
