World Cup Opening Ceremony on Oct 4, Motera Stadium to host ICC Captains Day

Narendra Modi Stadium will also have ICC Captains Day to mark the beginning of ICC World Cup 2023 ahead of Opening Ceremony in the evening of Oct 4.

The countdown to World Cup 2023 is on. Before the blockbuster England vs New Zealand opener on October 5, Narendra Modi Stadium will host World Cup opening ceremony on October 4. It will also be the ICC Captains Day. With World Cup Warm-up matches ending on October 3, all captains will assemble in Ahmedabad. It will mark the beginning of the mega event. Following the event, the World Cup 2023 Opening Ceremony will take place in the evening.

India captain Rohit Sharma will travel from Thiruvananthapuram on Oct 4 morning after completing warm-up match against the Netherlands.

World Cup 2023 Opening Ceremony

While the ICC or the BCCI has not released plans for the World Cup opening ceremony, as per a Cricbuzz report, it will be a dazzling event. Top singers from Bollywood as well as renowned international stars are expected to light up the event.

With the matches starting at 2 PM IST, there won’t be long for the World Cup 2023 opening ceremony to happen on the day of the match. Thus, the opening ceremony will take place a day in advance. It will help the grand stadium to offer light shows, firecrackers apart from some dazzling dance numbers.

Apart from the fans, the top officials of the International Cricket Council (ICC) as well as BCCI will attend the event. BCCI and the ICC will invite top administrators of all cricket boards for the event.
