IPL 2023 Promo: The Indian Premier League for the first time in its history will have two separate broadcasters after Viacom18 picked up the streaming rights. The broadcast giant has left no stone unturned in their preparations for the IPL, roping in CSK skipper MS Dhoni as brand ambassador. Dhoni also starred in Jio Cinema’s promo for the IPL as the clock ticks on the new season. Star Sports has now hit back, announcing their own prompt with Virat Kohli. Star Sports and Viacom18 are tussling for bragging rights with the IPL 2023 on the horizon. Having spent a fortune each on getting their media rights, the two broadcast giants have ramped up their preparation to woo the audiences on their side. Viacom18 has been particularly aggressive, given it is their first experience in IPL broadcast. All matches will air for free on Jio Cinema in 4K ultra HD. In response, Star Sports also announced that 12 games will be broadcast on their free to air channel, Star Utsav.

Earlier this week, Viacom18 announced the signing of MS Dhoni as their brand ambassador. Dhoni also featured in the promo for JioCinema. In the latest promo shared by IPL 2023’s official streaming partner JioCinema, MS Dhoni could be heard saying, “Is baar Tata IPL JioCinema pe, kisi bhi screen pe, voh bhi free, [Watch Tata IPL this time on JioCinema, watch on any screen for free].”

Now, Star Sports have responded with the launch of their own promo. Virat Kohli could be seen cheering in front of a packed stadium. The short video saw the the #ShorOn and #GameOn. Earlier, Star Sports released the official promo video. The video features Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul dancing to a new tune and it has already created a buzz.

Viacom18 has already announced that it will live stream IPL 2023 in 12 languages including Bhojpuri, Tamil, Bengali, Malayalam and Gujarati among others on its JioCinema platform.

Star Sports bagged IPL Broadcasting Rights for a whopping Rs 23,575 crore while Viacom18 bagged the digital rights for 23,758 Cr.
