Deepak Chahar was struggling with his hamstring at the end of GT vs CSK IPL 2023 Qualifier 1

While it is still unknown which pitch CSK will get in Ahmedabad, it is certain that Deepak Chahar will be one of the first names on the team sheet. That is the trust Dhoni has in the Agra-born pacer.

However, it all depends on his injury. Despite clutching his hamstring, Chahar seemed okay when CSK took the flight to Ahmedabad on Saturday. And as has been the case, CSK team management will take a late call if he is not a match-fit.

CSK vs GT IPL 2023 Final: What to expect from Chennai Super Kings?

  • As for other roles, CSK won’t tinker with any combination.
  • Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad have been excellent, perhaps only the second-best opening pair after Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis.
  • At No 3, CSK have tried both Ajinkya Rahane and Shivam Dube.
  • While both have had hot and cold runs, their spot will depend on the match situation.
  • Ambati Rayudu hasn’t had a great season so far but he showed glimpses of his skills what the fans can expect in the final.
  • Hence, Rayudu before calling it quits will be eager to put up a show at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
  • Ravindra Jadeja and Moeen Ali are settled in their new roles and will continue.

Tushar Deshpande is CSK’s top wicket-taker in IPL 2023 with 21 scalps

Even though bowling did not look like CSK’s strength with a string of injuries, Tushar Deshpande has filled in brilliantly. The Mumbaikar has bagged 21 wickets in 15 games. Matheesha Pathirana has done a fantastic job at the death while Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali and Maheesh Theekshana have won CSK matches with their spin web.

Although the pitch is expected to be a batting heaven, in case it turns, CSK can Pathirana with Mitchell Santner to have more edge.
