Stokes fell a victim to Rashid Khan and some impeccable keeping from Wriddhiman Saha. The England batter came to bat at number 4 after Moeen Ali’s dismissal. Huge expectations were upon him with him touted to be the game changer for MS Dhoni and Co.

However, CSK’s glory was short lived when Stokes departed early. He managed to score just 7 runs before leaving the crease. He managed to add just a boundary to his tally in his short-lived innings.

How was Ben Stokes Dismissed?
Ben Stokes was dismissed off a wonderful leg break delivery from Afghani spin wizard Rashid Khan. Stokes in a bid to rock the ball through the covers completely misjudged his length and got an edge. Like a diving eagle, Wriddhiman Saha jumped to dismiss the prized batter. The ball worked wonderfully before skidding past the England all rounder and reach Saha.
With his dismissal, CSK lost their third batter in the opning game against Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans.
Overall, it was an unfortunate outing for Ben Stokes. The Chennai Super Kings’ fans had entrusted huge hopes on their favourite playyer.
