CPL 2021: Good News for KKR, Andre Russell back in form; smashes record-breaking fifty in just 14 balls – Kolkata Knight Riders explosive batsman Andre Russell who plays for Jamaica Tallawahs’ in the CPL 2021 has hit the fastest fifty in the history of the tournament. Russell scored a fifty in just 14 balls to help his side post a huge total against Saint Lucia Kings here at the Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts on Friday.

Batting at number five, Russell did not waste any time as he started smashing bowlers all over the park from the word go. He scored 50 runs in just 14 balls with the help of six sixes and three fours. He played with a strike rate of 357.14. Russell smashed four sixes in an over of the Wahab Riaz. He scored 32 runs in that over which is the most expensive over in the history of the league.

JAM’s openers Chadwick Walton and Kennar Lewis gave their sid a solid start by scoring 81 runs inside the powerplay. Walton scored 47 runs while Lewis hit 48 runs. Pakistan’s Haider Ali also scored 45 runs followed by captain Rovman Powell who scored 38 runs.

For SLK, Obed McCoy picked three wickets in an over to pull things back for his side but there was no support from the other end. Roston Chase also took two wickets while Kesrick Williams chipped in with one wicket.
