Conor McGregor and Tony Ferguson were considered arch-rivals a few years back. A fight between them would have been extremely entertaining and profitable for the UFC. However, neither of them is at his peak right now. Ferguson has lost all 4 of his last UFC outings and has been on a win-draught since May 2019. Conor McGregor has also not won a fight since January 2020. Hence, putting them against each other as coaches may make more sense than hosting a fight between the two.
