Cody Rhodes vs Brock Lesnar: The American Nightmare accepts Brock Lesnar’s challenge
The much-anticipated rematch between Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar will occur at the Night of Champions premium live event. The stage was set during the latest “WWE Raw” episode when Lesnar interfered in Rhodes’ World Heavyweight Championship Tournament triple-threat match against The Miz and Finn Bálor. Just as Rhodes was about to secure a pinfall victory after executing a Cross Rhodes, Lesnar emerged out of nowhere and pulled Rhodes out of the ring, unleashing a devastating F5 on him. Adding insult to injury, Lesnar slammed Rhodes through the announce desk with another F5.
Lesnar then picked up a microphone and directly challenged Rhodes to a “fight” at the upcoming Night of Champions premium live event.

In their previous encounter at WWE Backlash, Rhodes emerged victorious by turning Lesnar’s submission attempt into a pinfall.
Backstage, Cody Rhodes was spotted receiving assistance from a trainer after his encounter with Brock Lesnar.
During the same show, Cody Rhodes made it clear that he was accepting Brock Lesnar’s challenge despite the evident toll of the attack he suffered earlier. Rhodes was seen in the trainer’s room, indicating that Lesnar’s assault had left him worse for wear. “The American Nightmare” acknowledged that he was going against his better judgment but still agreed to take on Lesnar at the upcoming Night of Champions event.
