Cincinnati Masters Tennis LIVE: Sania Mirza will be playing her penultimate tournament of her career at the Cincinnati Masters. The 35-year old has announced earlier this year that this will be her last season in her playing career. Sania Mirza and Lucie Hradecka pair started this year at the Dubai Tennis Championship, where they faced semifinal exit after losing to Jelena Ostapenko and Lyudmyla Kichenok in a closely fought encounter. They then faced yet another semifinal defeat at Qatar Open and Italian Open. They finished as runner-up at Charleston Open after losing the final to fourth seed Lucie Hradecka and Andreja Klepac. They were the sixth seed at Italian Open and bowed out from the semifinals. They then played Strasbourg and lost in the final. At the French Open they bowed out from the third round after a straight set defeat to American duo Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff. They last played in the Wimbledon, where they were the sixth seed but faced first round exit.
Meanwhile, Emma Raducanu and Elena Rybakina will be partnering together for the first time. Raducanu has made a surprise appearance in the doubles draw and the world No 10 already has her work cut out as she faces Serena Williams in the first round of the singles at the tournament. Raducanu has featured only once in doubles so far this season at the Citi Open recently. She partnered with Clara Tauson and lost in the first round. While, Rybakina has played quite a few doubles matches this season but has remained winless so far.
While Mirza- Hradecka pair has played with each other for the majority of the season, this will be the first time both Raducanu and Rybakina will be playing with each other. The Indo-Czech pair has an slight edge over their opponents going into the upcoming contest.
