Indian cricket has been hit by a storm with some damning revelations from BCCI Chief Selector Chetan Sharma. In a sting operation by Zee News, Sharma admitted that several Indian stars were involved in a doping net. While the Indian cricket board does run regular tests, the players ‘take injections’ which do not appear in their samples.

“Players can’t clear medical tests but don’t want to miss matches. Indian Cricket Team players take injection & get 100% fit even if they’re 80% fit. These are not pain killers. These injections contain drug which isn’t caught in Dope Test,” he was caught saying on camera.
Chetan Sharma’s allegations:
- Indian Cricketers take injections from private doctors to pass fitness tests.
- The injections are not prescribed by the BCCI medical team. Instead, they can be categorised under doping.
- The injections contain drugs that evade BCCI’s regular doping tests.
- That way, unfit players manage to keep their places in Indian team.
- Virat Kohli believed it was Sourav Ganguly who forced him out of ODI captaincy and that is why he gave an explosive press conference.
- Indian team dressing room is divided into two groups of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. But there is no rift between them.
- Jasprit Bumrah was not fit to play in the South Africa series ahead of T20 World Cup. Yet, he was made to play.
He further revealed details about Jasprit Bumrah’s injury. Bumrah, India’s pace ace was ruled out of the Asia Cup and the t20 World Cup with a back injury. He featured in a t20I in October only to be ruled out of action for another five months.
Chetan Sharma said, “Jasprit Bumrah’s injury was such critical that If he had played even one match of T20 WC in Australia, He would’ve got ruled out for at least one year.”

The Chief Selector further spoke about the Indian captaincy saga. Virat Kohli was sacked as white-ball captain with Rohit Sharma taking over. Over the past 2 years, the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya have all captained the side.
He said, “We 5 people (selectors) run the Cricket in India. We decide the present and future. Rohit Sharma talks with me for 30 minutes on phone. Hardik, Umesh and Deepak Hooda visited my house recently. They trust me.”

BCCI will conduct an internal investigation after a TV sting caught Chetan Sharma spilling the beans on the darkest secrets of India Cricket Team. The serious nature of claims while Australia is on a tour of India has left world’s richest cricket board embarrassed.
“His days are obviously numbered. It will be very difficult for the players to trust him after his words came public. But it will be decided only after the internal investigation.
