Poch, who spent five years at Tottenham and was fired by French powerhouses Paris Saint-Germain last summer, has close ties to London because he still resides there.
Pochettino is a desirable candidate for Chelsea, who needs someone to manage a large, skilled group that needs pruning, due to his reputation for developing young players, forward-thinking coaching, appealing style of play, and communication.

He led Tottenham to the 2019 Champions League final, but the depth of Chelsea’s roster and Boehly’s financial resources might provide him the tools to take home his first English football championship. From 2014 to 2019, Pochettino oversaw Spurs for five years, guiding them to the 2019 Champions League final, where they fell to Liverpool.
Tottenham fired him in November 2019 after they had a poor start to the next season and were ranked 14th in the Premier League at the time. Additionally, while at Spurs, he led them to the League Cup final in 2015 and the runners-up slot in the Premier League in 2016–17, losing both titles to Chelsea.
Lampard took over as the Blues’ manager after Potter was fired at the beginning of April, but he has lost each of his four matches so far. Boehly will be aiming to lock down the Argentine over the weekend so that the process of rebuilding gets start sooner.
