CCL 2023 Highlights: Celebrity Cricket League 2023 – Mumbai Heroes have returned to winning ways with a comprehensive 22-run victory over Punjab De Sher in the 2nd game on Sunday. Samir Kochhar and Madhav starred with the bat and the ball as Mumbai opened their account in CCL 2023. Sonu Sood’s Punjab De Sher lost their second consecutive match. Earlier in the day, Karnataka Bulldozers completed a thumping victory over Kerala Strikers as they move ahead in the Celebrity Cricket League. Punjab De Sher vs Mumbai Heroes Highlights: Batting first, Mumbai Heroes put up a big total in their first essay. Sami Kochhar slammed 24-ball 67 as Mumbai posted 133/4.
While Anuj Khurana’s 14-ball unbeaten 30 took Punjab closer to Mumbai’s total, Madhav undid all their hardwork. With a spell of 3/19, Madhav helped Mumbai open up a 17-run lead.
Although Mumbai did not fair better in the 2nd essay with 108/2, the lead went up to 126. They would thank Sharad Kelkar for that as he slammed 16-ball 37.
Chasing a big target of 126, Punjab were off to a brilliant start, scoring 25 runs in the first over. But it did not matter. In the middle overs, they kept losing wickets. Mayur fought tooth and nail with a brilliant 17-ball 47-run knock. But in the end, Mumbai cruised to a 22-run win.
Kerala Strikers vs Karnataka Bulldozers Highlights:
Kerala Strikers had a shaky start. They lost two wickets in 2 overs. With some sixes and four skipper Unni Mukundan tried to bring the game back but he got out. Wicket-keeper Rajeev scored an blistering fifty which helped Kerala Strikers to post good total against Karnataka Bulldozers. In the allotted 10 overs Kerala scored 101 for five.
In the first three overs openers Krishna and Pradep scored 34 runs. Trying for a six, Krishna got out at the long-on. In the Manikuttan over, Karnataka Bulldozers scored 15 runs, which was the expensive over. Karnataka Bulldozers achieved the target in 8 overs and lead by 23 runs. Pradeep scored half-century and Kerala Strikers bowler Jean picked two wickets.
Again it was slow start by the Kerala strikers losing two wickets early. Siddharth Menon scored 20 runs. Back to back sixes from Rajeev Pillai helped Kerala Strikers to post 105 for 5. Karnataka Bulldozers need 83 runs to win the match.
Karnataka won the game easily. Vivek picked two wickets in his 2 overs. Rajjev Hanu scored 34 runs while, Jayam Karthik scored 31 runs. Karnataka Bulldozers achieved the target in 6 overs.
