Carabao Cup Final: Newcastle is set to play the biggest match in club’s history when they take on Manchester United in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley. Winning the Carabao Cup will also see Newcastle players getting a huge payday in form of bonus. As per the report the cash will be distributed in accordance to matches and minutes played in the League Cup this term. Loris Karius, is expected to make his Newcastle debut in Sunday’s showpiece event. He is also expected to take home a chunk of money, despite not having played in the early rounds. Eddie Howe  also stands a chance to write his name in history books. No only will he be due for his own bonus but can become the first manager to win Newcastle a domestic trophy in 68 years.

Carabao Cup Final: Eddie Howe makes plea to passionate Newcastle fans

The Magpies are chasing their first domestic trophy since 1955. With a chance to make history Eddie Howe has asked fans to coe out an dd support the players at Wembley in such high pressure match.  He said: “From the people that I meet around the city and any interactions I have with supporters, whether that’s at six o’clock in the morning outside the training ground or when I’m leaving, the passion here and support for their team is truly incredible”.

He added, “I think the players know the responsibilities that they have to go into a game like this and try to be the best that we can. When you get to this stage, I think they know the pressures they will face so it’s a case from my position of trying to take them away and get to focus on the match itself.”

Newcastle United have won 21 trophies in their history so far. They have won the FA Cup six times followed by the first and second division leagues titles. They Magpies have won the title four times each. Newcastle United are yet to win the League Cup in their history. Their best performance came in the 1975-76 season when they finished as runners-up to Manchester City. The last tie Newcastle had won a trophy was in 2017(Championship title). The Magpies earned promoted back to the Premier League after just one season in the second tier.
