Canelo Alvarez vs Jermall Charlo Date Changed?: Boxing News: The fight between Canelo Alvarez and Jermall Charlo has been postponed from its initial date of September 16 to September 30. Follow Boxing News Updates with InsideSports.IN.

It is anticipated that the fight will take place in Las Vegas, where Canelo frequently competes and has a lot of luck winning. This is the opponent that undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo (59-2-2, 39 KOs) wants to fight, albeit the bout hasn’t been formally announced yet.

Massive Update on Canelo’s New PBC Signing: Has The Date For Canelo Alvarez vs Jermall Charlo Changed?

They cannot have tough competition from another fight event, especially one featuring the UFC, in order to create the most PPV buys on Showtime for the Canelo-Charlo fight.

Canelo chose Jermall in order to cash in on his fame and make quick money rather than a more deserving opponent. The key word here is “easy,” since that is what Canelo has focused on since his dreadful defeat to Dmitry Bivol in 2022.

Since his defeat to Bivol, Canelo has chosen to face John Ryder and Gennadiy Golovkin rather than David Benavidez, David Morrell Jr., or a rematch with Dmitry because they are less difficult opponents.

The decision allows Canelo (59-2-2, 39 KOs), the undisputed super middleweight champion, additional time to develop his cardio, which will be necessary for him to defeat Jermall (32-0, 22 KOs).

Canelo Alvarez vs Jermall Charlo Date Changed? Massive Update on Canelo’s New PBC Signing

Canelo cannot afford to gas out against Jermall, 33, who will be returning from a lengthy layoff but whose stamina will undoubtedly pose a significant challenge to the Mexican star. Jermall won’t fight at a half-pace as Golovkin did in September of last year, and he’s not Ryder’s slow, vulnerable, weak puncher. The additional time is beneficial to Charlo as well because he hasn’t competed since June 2021 and will require as much preparation time as feasible. Jermall won’t be able to shake the rust after two years in one camp, no matter how much time he spends working out.

The best Charlo can hope for is to improve his stamina to the point where he can fight hard for twelve rounds, as that might be enough for him to outwork Canelo, who has stamina issues.
