- Andy Murray started this year with a first round exit at Melbourne Summer Set.
- He then finished as runner-up in the Sydney International after losing the final to Aslan Karatsev in straight sets.
- He returned to the Australian Open, exactly three years later after a tearful exit in 2019 due to a career threatening hip injury and bowed out in the second round.
- He then played in the ATP Rotterdam, Qatar Open, Dubai Tennis Championship, Indian Wells Masters and Miami Open. In all the tournaments, he failed to go past the second round.
- He decided to skip the clay court season this year but revoked his decision and decided to feature in the Madrid Open. It was his first clay court tournament since the 2020 French Open.
- He won the first two rounds and set up clash with Novak Djokovic in the third round. He however faced an injury and withdrew from the tournament before playing the match.
- He then started the grass court season this year with the Surbiton Trophy and bowed out from the tournament in the semifinals.
- At the Stuttgart Open, he finished as runner-up after losing the final to Matteo Berrettini in three sets.
- He then played at the Wimbledon where he defeated James Duckworth in four sets in the first round. But lost against John Isner in the second round in four sets.
- Murray appeared at the Hall of Fame Open next where he made it to the quarterfinals. He then began the second leg of the hard court season by playing at the Citi Open and faced first round exit after losing to Mikael Ymer.
- Taylor Fritz started the year by reaching the fourth round at the Australian Open where he lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas in five sets.
- He made the Tennis world take notice of him in a major event this year when he defeated Rafael Nadal in the final of the Indian Wells Masters.
- He then started the clay court season where he reached the quarterfinal at US Clay Court Championships, Monte Carlo Masters. However at the French Open, he faced second round exit by losing to qualifier Zapatta Miralles.
- He started the grass court season with two first round exits at Libema Open and Queen’s Club championships.
- He came back strongly by winning the title at Eastbourne International. He went on to reach the quarterfinal at Wimbledon, where he lost to Rafael Nadal in a five-set thriller.
- Following it he took a break and returned for hard court action by participating in the Citi Open but he gave a walover to his opponent Dan Evans in the second round.
