According to recent reports, “FaZe Kalei” Renay accused Activision of blocking her captaincy for “over sexual tweets” in a now-deleted tweet. Renay, a member of the male-dominated esports team FaZe Clan, has applied to lead her team in a future event. Kalei Streams on Twitch and has one of the largest Warzone followings. However, recent events seem to have indicated that she may not have been in the good books of Activision Blizzard. The company, Activision reserves the right to deny a Captaincy to any Call of Duty esports team member at any time for various reasons. The company is currently the defendant in numerous lawsuits related to allegations of sexual harassment. According to Renay , Activision didn’t let her be captain of their own FaZe tournament due to her ‘over-sexual tweets’, but yet the same company uses an avatar of an ass cheek on their Twitter profile, she said.

The Raven Software profile picture on their official Twitter account was (quite literally) a photo of FaZe member Swagg’s freshly-inked butt, while Kalei blasted Activision’s “double standard. Previously, Swagg tattooed the studio’s logo on his butt, as a reward for reversing the loadout changes. However, it is being told that Renay’s tweets do use sexual indications and language but nothing that is sexually suggestive or explicit. Often these tweets have a humorous undertone to them with the intent of making jokes or funny comments.
According to a representative of FaZe clan, Kalei is “unapologetically herself and that is what we love about her” – they said. Even though her tweets are sometimes deemed inappropriate by others, as a member of FaZe, she is supported by them and will not keep her from tweeting. Implying that FaZe clan is determined to stand with her as she faces such adversity.
