Lando Norris started the Brazil GP Sprint from pole position ahead of Max Verstappen. However, Max Verstappen took the lead into turn 1 and never looked back. For the majority of the race, Lando kept up with the Dutchman. But once he started to push, there was no stopping Max Verstappen from winning yet another Formula 1 event.
The Start
Everyone knew that if Lando Norris had to win the Brazil GP Sprint, he had to maintain his lead. At the start, he did get a better launch than Max Verstappen. However, during the second phase, Max Verstappen inched ahead. Lando didn’t cover him and lost the lead.
Furthermore, he admitted that George Russell caught him ‘sleeping’ in the first lap. By the time he got back past the Mercedes, Max had already built a buffer.
Sergio Perez had qualified brilliantly for the Brazil GP Sprint. However, he lost 2 positions at the start. But he recovered them quickly as well.

A Frantic Race
Interlagos always provides brilliant racing action, be it any event. The 2023 Formula 1 Brazil GP Sprint was no different. For the majority of the race, cars from P5 to P13 were in a DRS train. Drivers were making moves left, right, and centre.
The big point of the Brazil GP Sprint was the cleanliness of the racing. So many moves were attempted and made. Yet, none of them resulted in a collision. The battles went on till the final lap, with some being decided by a drag race across the finish line.
What did we learn?
Almost all the drivers started the Brazil GP Sprint on soft tyres. The only outliers were both Haas drivers and Logan Sargeant, who started on the mediums.
Max Verstappen and Lando Norris showed very little tyre degradation. Sergio Perez in third place had admirable pace as well, despite damaging his tyres during his battles with both the Mercedes.

The Ferrari duo and Lewis Hamilton, surprisingly, had terrible tyre wear. They were sliding all over the place. By the end of the Brazil GP Sprint, Lewis Hamilton’s tyres were completely gone, and even Yuki Tsunoda passed him.
