BGMS Week 2 Qualifiers Day 1 Highlights: With a fitting conclusion to the launch Week of India’s first-ever televised esports event, the BGMI Masters Series, the stage is set for Week 2 qualifiers. With a breath of fresh air for all the teams, day 1 of Week 2 Qualifiers featured even more thrilling battles throughout as we had three winners in three different matches. After a terrible couple of matches in the launch week, OR esports had a point to prove and they did just that, especially in Sanhok to finish as the topper after day 1. Three matches have been played as we had three different winners in the form of FS Esports, Enigma Gaming, and OR Esports. With a dominant outing at Sanhok, OR Esports is currently leading at the top with 51 points in 3 matches while Team Soul is following them with 36 points in 3 matches. However, Teams like Enigma Gaming, Revenant, and FS Esports are within touching distance as they played fewer matches.

Although the points will not be effective in Overall points (Launch week overall points) but will help to finish in the top 16 for competing in Weekly Finals. Eventually, Weekly Final overall points will be accumulated to the Overall points (Launch week overall points). So, without any further delay, let’s get back to the match stories.
BGMS Week 2 Qualifiers Day 1 Summary:
Match 1:
The opening match of Week 2 featured Group A and Group B on the Erangle map. Having only gained a single point in the last two matches, OR Esports had their back against the wall while Team SouL was still looking for consistency. From the get-go, the game was full of intent and aggression as Team SouL lost two teammates while rotating. The hard shifts of zones to Lipovka made the contest even more interesting as teams were scattering away for safe spots.
FS Esports was considered one of the consistent teams in the competition as they were probably the only team to be at the top half of the table without WWCD (launch week). They were always one step ahead of the others in terms of holding positions. Proving everyone wrong, Team SouL finished third going down from prays of both FS and OR. With hill advantages over OR, FS was clever enough to block the TPP view and finished off OR with ease to claim the Chicken dinner. K47st of FS Esports was the MVP of the match.
Match 2:
It was a rematch of the opening fixture (Group A vs Group B) as Miramar map hosted the second match. With all eyes set on the popular teams like Team GODLike, TSM, and Orangutan, it was yet another disappointing outing for them. One of the highlights of the match was when Team Godlike, and Orangutan featured in early exchanges and the third-party attacks were on show making it one of the most entertaining battles of the competition.
The Miramar map always turns out in favor of the teams who utilize hill or height advantage. And Guess What! Enigma Gaming and Skylightz Gaming found themselves in an ideal position to have a grandstand finish. But, Saumraj of Skylightz was caught napping as they lost the advantage to Enigma who made the most use of it. VeXe of SG tried to put up some resistance but the combination Evo0 and Eggy of Enigma wiped out one after one to clinch the chicken dinner. Eggy of Enigma Gaming was the MVP of the match.
Match 3:
The final game of the day featured Group B and Group C on the Sanhok map. One of the common features of this map is Heal battles. With players focusing on position points, Heal Battle is paramount to a consistent result. Having back against the wall, OR Esports had to show what they are made of and they came up with their best performance of the campaign in the final game.
Orange Rock Esports was dominant throughout playing with the opponents’ minds and shifting effortlessly. Having gained early confidence, fearless OR Esports wiped out one after one including Goblin of Team SouL. Soul Hector and Tenncore of Revenant featured in a heal battle and the latter finished second. Just like that, OR Esports eased to the victory. Attanki of OR was the MVP of the match.
Overall Standings:
With a dominant finish at the end, OR Esports once again is leading. However, there are 9 more matches to be played to have the top 16 teams competing in the weekly finals.
