Ban on VLC Player lifted
As per popular media reports, the central government on Monday lifted the ban on the VLC Media Player website. Netizens of India can now easily access the website. The government blocked the website earlier this year (February 2022), citing security concerns. VideoLan, the parent company, asserted early this year that it first noticed the ban on its app and website in India in February 2022. VideoLan is a not-for-profit organization that mainly runs and manages the operations of VLC Media Player.

Interested individuals were able to run this player on their PC, mobile, and other devices. However, there couldn’t able to download the same on their devices.
