Stokes announced his retirement from ODI format on Monday
Stokes will make his final ODI appearance on Tuesday against South Africa
However, the English all-rounder will continue to play in T20I and Test format
Ben Stokes did not have the greatest of farewell games.
He bowled an unimpressive spell of 0/44 from his 5 overs, while managed 5(11) with the bat.

Ben Stokes’ Career –

Stokes has played 104 ODI matches and is set to end his international career in the format on his home ground at the Seat Unique Riverside against South Africa on Tuesday.

After making his ODI debut against Ireland in 2011, Stokes has scored 2919 runs, including three centuries, and taken 74 wickets. He captained the ODI side during last summer’s 3-0 Royal London Series victory against Pakistan and has been an inspirational leader.

In his 11-year ODI career, Stokes has played 104 matches, scoring 2919 runs.
He has also bagged 74 wickets.
His ODI career also has three centuries and 21 fifties at an average of 39.44.
He captained England ODI side during last summer’s 3-0 series victory against Pakistan and has been an inspirational leader.
Ben Stokes was also named in the ICC 2019 World Cup Team of the Tournament.
In the 2019 WC final, he smashed 98-ball 84 to force a super over against New Zealand.

Reason for Ben Stokes’ retirement from ODI format

“I can’t give my team-mates 100% of myself in this format anymore,” Stokes said in a statement.

“This has been an incredibly tough decision to make. I have loved every minute of playing with my mates for England. We have had an incredible journey on the way.

“As hard as a decision as this was to come to, it’s not as hard dealing with the fact I can’t give my teammates 100% of myself in this format anymore. The England shirt deserves nothing less from anyone who wears it.,” Stokes concluded by saying.
