It was in the 8th over of Brisbane Heat innings when Sam Heazlett hammered Riley Meredith over the square leg into the crowd for a six. But the crowd had to get involved and one spectator did so. He dived, toppling one’s beer glass only to spill it. But the other spectator sitting just behind him caught it without dropping a sweat.

As for the match, James Bazley’s blazing 27-ball 44 helped Brisbane Heat post 150/8 in 20 overs despite Nathan Ellis’ 3/41. In response, Hobart Hurricanes could only manage 136/8 with Xavier Bartlett scalping four wickets for 30 runs and Afghanistan’s young spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman returning with 3/20 in his four overs. Brisbane Heat won the match by 14 runs.
However, not all crowd catches go exactly according to plans. In another Hobart Hurricanes match against Perth Scorchers, a young fan was left with a bloodied forehead. He tried to catch but it hit him right on the forehead.

The fan immediately crashed to the ground with a lot of blood when the camera panned towards his face. “Oh no. He’s got a bit of blood. We need some medic. He didn’t even realise,” the commentator said. The medic team quickly assisted the fan.
