The match was delayed for 20-minutes ahead of kick-off as a thunderstorm rolled through Green Bay but the match started in lightning fashion.
Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Grealish continued to show a growing understanding with the former testing Manuel Neuer early on before Grealish fired just wide.
Down at the other end Sergen Gnabry thought he’d given Bayern the lead, only for the goal to be chalked off for an offside in the build-up.
The main story of the night was Haaland’s debut and it took the Norway international only 12-minutes to open his account. De Bruyne played in Grealish who squared it the 22-year-old forward to tap into an empty net.

Celebrations were cut short though as the storm rolled through again, forcing the players off the field for over half an hour. Upon their return, the game was shortend, with two 40-minute halves and a reduced half-time break too.
Both sides rotated their squads in the second half as Bayern grew into the game, Gnabry going inches away from converting Alphonso Davies’ cross.
Amongst others, Bayern’s new recruits Matthijs de Ligt and Noussai Mazraoui came on in the second half as Pep Guardiola gave opportunities to some youngsters including Rico Lewis who struck the post late on.
In the end, Haaland’s goal was enough to give Man City the win marking the Norwegian’s first-ever victory over the Bavarians.
