- After a terrific hard court season, his clay court season started off on a poor note as he faced a humiliating defeat in his first match at Monte Carlo Masters. He went down to Sebastian Korda in three sets.
- He will now look to put the Monte Carlo Masters disappointment behind and perform well at the Barcelona Masters, which is his home tournament.

- 24-year old Kwon Soon-woo had a poor season so far as he hasn’t gone past the second round in any of the tournaments this year.
- After consecutive second round defeats in the first seven tournaments for him this year, his performance slid down further as he crashed out of the first round at Indian Wells Masters and Miami Open.
- He didn’t even qualify for the main round of the Monte Carlo Masters as he bowed out in the qualifiers.
- He made it to the main draw of the Barcelona Open and started the tournament by defeating Benoit Paire 6-4, 6-4 to book a spot in the second round.
Alcaraz vs Soon-woo Head-to-Head: This will be the first-ever meeting between both the players. Their head-to-head record at the moment stands 0-0. Alcaraz is the overwhelming favourite in this contest and he will have the support of the local crowd as well to keep him going.
