Pedri anointed himself as the king of Camp Nou on Sunday as his sensational goal helped Barcelona beat Sevilla 1-0. Barcelona were arguably Europe’s most in-form side before the international break and knew that a win at Camp Nou would take them into second place for the first time this season.
It was the home side who got off to the better start with Ferran Torres going close with a curled effort on 10 minutes.
Ousmane Dembélé was looking like a superstar once more with the French winger terrorising the Sevilla defence, but not even his magic could force an opening goal. Into the second and it was Julen Lopetegui’s visitors who slowly started to get into the game but, much like Barça, struggled to find that killer touch in front of goal.
Gerard Piqué almost opened the scoring midway through the half as his header crashed off the crossbar. But it was Pedri who eventually did get Barcelona their goal as the youngster twisted up two opposition defenders before firing into the bottom corner.
