The Badminton Association of India (BAI), in partnership with REC, is set to financially support 28 talented shuttlers for international tournaments, aiming to boost their rankings and provide essential exposure for high-level competitions. Selected players, ranking between 26th and 75th in the BWF world rankings, and standouts from recent Senior National Championships, including Unnati Hooda and Tanvi Sharma, will receive full funding despite not being part of the national camp.
Sanjay Mishra, BAI Secretary, reiterated the commitment to back promising talents, emphasizing the collaboration with REC to expand opportunities for shuttlers in international events. This initiative aligns with BAI’s goal to create robust opportunities within the national badminton structure.
The support extends to singles champions Chirag Sen and Anmol Kharb, along with runners-up Tharun Mannepalli and Tanvi Sharma. Doubles champions Suraj Goala, Pruthvi Roy, Priya Konjengbam, and Shruti Mishra are also included. Each player can choose three tournaments, including Super 300 events like the Orleans Masters and Swiss Open, from a total of eight. BAI will provide complete financial backing for these shuttlers, fostering their development in international badminton.
