Once again, it was 17-year-old sensation Kharb who got India the decisive win after doing so against China and Japan.

India has done it! From not even making the final in past editions to winning the Badminton Asia Team Championships Title. The India women have eked out a tight 3-2 victory over Thailand thanks to rising star Anmol Kharb and her splendid display in the final tie.

India’s highest-ranked singles player, PV Sindhu, had given them a dream start with a straight games win over Supanida Katethong. India star doubles duo Teresa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand then took over to hand India an important 2-0 lead in the Badminton Asia Team Championships Final.

However, India soon lost that lead with consecutive losses to singles (Ashmita Chaliha) and doubles (Priya Konjengbam and Shruti Mishra) in straight games. However, their 17-year-old trump card, Anmol Khard, had other things in mind as she dispatched Pornpicha Choeikeewong easily to help India lift the title.
