All England Open 2024: Kidambi Srikanth, HS Prannoy bow out, PV Sindhu moves ahead

India suffered a setback as Kidambi Srikanth and HS Prannoy bowed out of the All England Open 2024 in the first round itself

India suffered an early setback at the All England Open Badminton Championships 2024. Ace shuttlers Kidambi Srikanth and HS Prannoy were eliminated in the first round of the tournament. Meanwhile, PV Sindhu moves to the next round after playing just one game.

All England Open: PV Sindhu wins, Pranoy and Srikanth bow out

PV Sindhu moved to the next round after her opponent Yvonne Li retired after the first game. The Indian shuttler dominated the game, clinching it 21-10 forcing her opponent to retire.

World no.8 HS Prannoy suffered a loss at the hands of Su Li Yang. Prannoy lost to the 32nd ranked shuttler 21-14, 13-21, 13-21, thus being eliminated in the first round.

Kidambi Srikanth was also eliminated in the first round of the tournament. He lost to top seed Viktor Axelsen 9-21, 9-21. Aakarshi Kashyap also had to bow out of the tournament after losing to Pai Yu Po.
