In a leaked video, Babar Azam allegedly sent obscene messages to the girlfriend of a fellow Pakistani cricketer. The video also shows Babar assuring the girl of the Pakistani cricketer’s place in the team if she continues to text him. A certain Twitter user named Dr Nimo Yadav tweeted a leaked video on Monday. However, the authenticity of the video is still doubtful.
“Babar Azam sexting with GF of another Pakistan cricketer and promising her that her bf won’t be out of the team if she keeps sexting with him is just. I hope allah is watching all this,” the Twitter post read.
The post has seen been viewed and shared over 160,000.

However, this is not the first time that a cricket has been caught in honey trapping. Former Australia captain Tim Paine had to step down from captaincy following a sexting scandal ahead of Ashes 2021. Since then, Paine has not played any match for Australia. He also took a sabbatical following the incident.
Meanwhile, Babar is already facing a lot of heat for losing the Tets series against England and the ODI series against NewZealand. There are already rumours of changing guards in Pakistan cricket. With no Ramiz Raja at the helm, Pakistan are already looking at an overhaul.
PCB to review Babar Azam’s captaincy: New PCB management has expressed a desire to let players and coaches know that they are committed to challenging the status quo if required.
It has not been ruled out that such a challenge may fragment the Pakistan captaincy across formats. It may force Babar Azam out of captaincy at leats from some formats of the game. The interim selection committee was established by the present PCB administration, which is itself a provisional arrangement. Saqlain Mushtaq, the head coach of the national men’s team, is expected to resign after his contract expires in February.
