Ind vs Eng 4th Test: Axar Patel has become the highest wicket-taker in a debut series with 27 scalps against England in the four-match Test series. Doing so, he has surpassed Sri Lankan spinner Ajanta Mendis’ record of 26 wickets against India in 2008 and teammate Ravichandran Ashwin’s 22 wickets against West Indies.
Patel continued his red-hot form in his debut Test series. After scalping 21 wickets in the two Tests, he bagged another five-wicket haul in the final Test match in Ahmedabad. The left-arm spinner has been one reason why India have had tamed the visitors’ batsmen.
