Among the news faces, Sri Lanka might possibly hand debuts to Janith Liyanage and Shiran Fernando. The former is batting all-rounder and impressed one and for Galle’s squad for the 2017-18 Super Four Provincial Tournament. Liyanage has played 40 T20 matches and has scored 711 runs. Meanwhile, Fernando is a right-arm fast bowler who has played 19 T20 matches and has picked up 28 wickets.
Sri Lanka fast bowlers Kumara and Chameera did not have a great time in T20Is in 2021. The presence of Shiran Fernando will get skipper Shanaka another option to explore.
