Ashes England Playing XI – England Probable Playing XI for Brisbane, Gabba Test

Australian legend Allan Border is completely shocked with the England decision.

“It is a huge gamble,” Border said on Fox Cricket.

“I’m standing here with overcast skies and it is quite humid. We have got a grassy pitch out in the middle there.

“We saw what happened in the last series in England when Broad was all over David Warner so if he doesn’t play there will be a big smile on David Warner’s face that’s for sure.”

Shane Warne echoed Border’s sentiments after Broad was left out in favour of Leach.

“Australia lost the first Test at The Gabba for the first time in 30 years last year,” Warne said.

“I would have been hitting them right between the eyes with Anderson and Broad.

“Unfortunately they have decided to rest them.”

“I am shocked actually because the first Test is so important with the momentum and getting off to a good start,” Mark Waugh added.

“These two guys 1156 wickets between them. You think one of the two would play. Now none of them are playing. That is a big call to make by the selectors.”
