COVID-19 cases surge to six but players test negative- All the players have tested negative in RT-PCR tests which comes a huge relief for Ashes. However, a couple of more cases surged the total positive cases to 6 with a support staff of the already quarantining family testing positive for the virus.

“All Australian and England players return negative test results … but there’s still “growing concerns” as Covid cluster among England support staff and family members grows,” added Fox Cricket.

AUS beat ENG, Ashes 3rd Test: Scott Boland takes six wickets as Australia defeat England by 14 runs & inns, regain ASHES
Earlier on Monday, the visitors did a commendable job in restricting Australia for just 267 runs in the first innings. But they failed again with the bat and the 82 runs lead came handy for the hosts as England was left reeling at 31/4 in the final session.
Mitchell Starc and Scott Boland were the architects in putting Australia back in command as the duo accounted for 4 wickets in the final session and ripped apart England’s top order consisting of Zak Crawley, Haseeb Hameed, Dawid Malan. Nightwatchman Jack Leach too couldn’t hold on for the remaining overs.

The hosts will be aiming to put the final nail on Day 3 by picking England’s 6 remaining wickets and hand England their 12th straight loss (including a tie) on Australian soil.

Australia leads the five-match series 2-0 on the back of comprehensive wins in the first two matches in Brisbane and Adelaide respectively.
