Rafael Nadal, who is the top seed in the tournament finds himself in Group Green that also has World No.4 Casper Ruud, Canadian Felix Auger Aliassime and 8th seed Taylor Fritz. This is a fairly easier group compared to the other group that is named Group Red. This group is led by second seed Stefanos Tsitsipas that also features former World No.1 Daniil Medvedev, his Russian compatriot Andrey Rublev and Novak Djokovic. This group can infact be termed as the “Group of Death”.

World No.2 Nadal has become the top seed in this year’s tournament after the withdrawal of World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz following his abdominal injury. Nadal has become the top seed at the year-end championships for the fifth time. The Spaniard is yet to win a title at the year-end championships and looks to end the year on a high as he is aiming for his maiden ATP Finals title.

Meanwhile, seventh seed Novak Djokovic will try to make history at the Pala Alpitour. The five-time champion can tie Roger Federer’s record of six ATP Finals titles, but he will face a tough challenge from higher-ranked Stefanos Tsitsipas and Daniil Medvedev, who are former ATP Finals titlist and also Andrey Rublev, who beat the Serbian earlier this year at the Serbian Open final.
