Neeraj Chopra to head to Turkey for training, after stint in South Africa

All eyes will be on Neeraj Chopra this year once again, if he can defend his Olympics gold, and also cross the 90m barrier.

Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Neeraj Chopra is all set to change his training base from Potchefstroom, South Africa to Antalya, Turkey, after his proposal was cleared by the MYOS on Thursday. As per a report in Olympics.com, Neeraj will train at the Gloria Sports Arena in Turkey from March first week, till the end of May.

Of course, Neeraj will be accompanied by his team, coach Dr Klaus Bartonietz and physio Ishaan Marwaha. Meanwhile, the 26-year-old had moved to South Africa in December last year, and will train there until February 29.

Neeraj was last seen in action at the Asian Games 2023 in September, where once again he had won a gold, with Kishore Jena landing a silver. This year, he is expected to make a comeback in the Doha or Rabat leg of the 2024 Diamond League, around May.

On the other hand, table tennis players Sreeja Akula and Archana Kamath will head to Beirut, to participate in the WTT Feeder and WTT Feeder 2 events.
