On the second day of the Khelo India Youth Games 2023, Delhi surged to the second spot in the overall standings, propelled by securing two gold medals.


Delhi jumped to the second spot after bagging two gold medals in Khelo India Youth Games 2023, Tamil Nadu and Delhi emerged as dominant forces on the second day of the Khelo India Youth Games 2023, securing two gold medals each. Navyaa SH claimed the first gold of the day in girls’ traditional yoga, contributing to Tamil Nadu’s total of four golds and two bronze medals. Fencer Arlin AV secured the boy’s Sabre gold by defeating Haryana’s Lakshya Badser 15-14, further boosting Tamil Nadu’s medal count.

Delhi climbed to the second position in the medals tally, with judokas clinching two out of the five gold medals available and securing two silver medals at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium. Tannu Mann seized the girls’ 48kg gold, while Anurag Sagar triumphed in the boys’ 55kg category. Chandigarh’s Sapna (girls’ 40kg) and Punjab’s Shivansh Vashisht (boys’ 50kg) added to the gold medal tally.

In the Yogasana competition, Navyaa SH of Tamil Nadu secured a second gold medal in the girls’ Traditional Yoga category. Manipur’s K Abhinash triumphed in the boy’s Foil final in the fencing competition. Haryana, the defending boys’ Kabaddi champion, advanced to the final by defeating Maharashtra 45-28 and set up a summit clash against Rajasthan, who earlier beat Tamil Nadu 41-23 in the semi-final.
