Unfortunately, Josh hasn’t come up, hopefully, he’ll be right for the white-ball games. It’s been really tough on him, he has been really hanging out to play in this Ashes series like everyone. He has missed three games, so to have one of our premier fast bowlers out of the series, I guess it is a bit like England missing one of their premier fast bowlers (in Jofra Archer) – we’ve missed big Josh, Justin Langer was quoted saying by cricket.com.au.

Langer confirmed Boland would bowl despite an injury concern as Australia look to set the series ledger at 4-0. The Victorian will keep his place in the side after he finished with figures of 4/36 in the first innings at SCG, in a game he could have been dropped had Hazlewood passed the fitness test.

Josh Hazlewood is a regular for Australia with 200+ wickets in just 56 Tests but his replacement have performed well to give him plenty of time to be fully fit to resume. He is likely to make a comeback in the ODIs against New Zealand later this month.

The first ODI between Australia & New Zealand will be played in Perth on January 30 (Sunday).

Josh Hazlewood on the radar of all IPL franchises
