Zaha, who is nearing the end of his contract with Crystal Palace, may be looking to challenge himself at a higher level after his extended tenure with the club. Arsenal has shown interest in the player recently, according to sources.

Foot Mercato’s latest report suggests that Arsenal’s interest in signing Zaha on a free transfer is growing stronger, and they may soon make a concrete offer to his representatives with whom they are already in touch.

On the other hand, the French club Marseille has made the initial move to secure the player’s services and is keen on bringing him to Ligue 1. They were offered the opportunity to sign him and seem to be interested in the idea.

It has been suggested that Marseille would need to qualify for the Champions League to persuade Zaha to join them. Additionally, matching the player’s current salary, which is around €6 million per season (approximately £100,000 per week), could be challenging for the French club.

While money may not be Zaha’s primary motivation, he is unlikely to accept a salary reduction from his current terms. Foot Mercato emphasizes this point.

Marseille Could Outsmart Arsenal in Race for Zaha: Reports

With seven games remaining, Marseille is currently in second place in the Ligue 1 table. They must maintain their position to qualify for the Champions League group stage.

Other potential suitors for Zaha include Bundesliga clubs Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, as well as Monaco from Ligue 1, and some teams from the Middle East (although this option may be less appealing to the 30-year-old).

In the current season, Zaha has scored six goals in 24 appearances for Crystal Palace in the Premier League. Across all of his stints with the club, he has amassed 89 goals in 455 games.

Replacement for Leandro Trossard?

The question of whether Zaha would secure a spot in Arsenal’s starting lineup is up for debate. Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, and Gabriel Martinelli would likely remain their first-choice attacking options.

However, Zaha’s ability to play on the wing or in a central role makes him a versatile option for Arsenal, similar to their January signing Leandro Trossard.

While Marseille could also be a viable option, it remains uncertain whether Zaha is willing to leave the Premier League behind.
