Why so much of confusion? The entire DRAMA started when France coach was asked if Benzema can play FINAL as he has recovered from his injury sooner than expected?
Deschamps gave a cold response in press conference. “Next question,” he simply replied. This was interepreted by some as possible chance of Benzema playing the World CUP FINAL.
The theory was further boosted as Benzema started training with his Real Madrid teammates at Valdebebas. He also played in Thursday’s warm-up match against Leganes.
The confusion still prevails as now Benzema has been invited to be present at the WC Final by the Prime Minister of France. Emmanuel Macron, wants Karim in the capital of Qatar, after being excluded by Deschamps due to a muscle injury.
Macron’s idea is not only to take Benzema, but also to take the group of injured players who have been in Qatar or who missed out due to injury, such as Paul Pogba or N’Golo Kante.
The 34-year-old message on Instagram “I’m not interested” is a possible response to the situation.
WHAT NEXT FOR BENZEMA? With the Frenchman possibly ruling himself out of action in Qatar, he will instead be focusing on club matters. Real Madrid will resume their league title defence on December 30 against Real Valladolid.
