Among Us Airship map: After a massive surge in popularity amongst streamers due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Among Us will release new content including a new airship map for gamers on March 31. As per the game developer, Innersloth, the new content will see new tasks, new gameplay mechanics and cosmetics elements being added to the game.
Among Us, one of the most popular games of 2020, surpassed 200-million downloads. It won the best multiplayer and the best mobile game award in The Game Awards 2020. During the award ceremony, Innersloth’s Geoff Keighley announced that the team was already working on a new map and would be released in early 2021.

While there was no release date, gamers eagerly waited for the content that got delayed. Now, it is expected to come out during the working hours of March 31.
“We had already considered the game done and had moved onto something else. And while it may seem odd, things took a few months, it’s quite normal in game development, especially for a team of our size,” the Among Us developers said.
“When you work in an official capacity and need to handle various business needs, there are more legal considerations that need to be put into it versus if it were just a side project or mod!” they added.
With the game being cross-platform, it made it more difficult for the small team of five members to manage everything while also working on the update. “Because our game is cross-platform, it means EVERYTHING needs to work on as many devices as possible. (Every kind of smartphone and its various versions, console, etc.) You may have noticed most modifications to the game focus on just PC, as that makes development much easier,” the developers said.

The March 31 update will primarily be a new Airship map. Now, players will have different starting rooms, preliminary account system, and new tasks.

The new account system will have a friend system that will allow players to transfer cosmetics between devices. It will also add parental control, meaning parents can now decide whether to allow access to free chat or display names for minors.
However, the most exciting aspect will be the free new cosmetics. Innersloth announced on Twitter that it will include new hats, angry eyebrows, unicorn horn, a heart and a chocolate ice cream hat.
