All England Open draws PV Sindhu & Sai Praneeth headline tournament draws- India ace shuttler PV Sindhu will face off World No.17 Wang Zhi Yi in the opening contest of All England Open in her bid to win maiden title in the tournament. In Men’s Singles, Sai Praneeth, a BWF World Championship bronze medallist in 2019,  will face off World No.1 Victor Axelsen in a tough battle to progress in the tournament. The tournament is slated to take place from March 16 to 20 in Birmingham.

Badminton Asia Championships: Lakshya Sen wins but both India men’s and women’s teams bow out

  • Saina Nehwal, who will be looking for an improvement after recovering from injury, will face off 10th ranked Pornpawee Chochuwong.
  • Both India Badminton queens– World No.7 Sindhu & Saina (25th ranked)– are placed in the same quarter as second-ranked Akane Yamaguchi.
  • Akane Yamaguchi goes up against Phittayaporn Chaiwan of Thailand
  • Besides Sai Praneeth, Former World No.1 Kidambi Srikanth will face off Kantaphon Wangcharoen in the opening round. He is also placed in the same quarter as World No.1 Axelsen.
  • Lakshya Sen will face off counterpart Sourabh Verma in his bid for the second title in 2022 after India Open. He is placed in the same quarter as World No.1 Kento Momota.
  • HS Prannoy will begin his All England Open journey against German Open champion Kunlavut Vitidsarn who defeated Lakshya Sen in the finals. Meanwhile, Sameer Verma will lock horns against Mark Caljouw.
  • Meanwhile, Parupalli Kashyap will play against Anthony Sinisuka Ginting.
  • Satwiksairaj Rankireddy & Chirag Shetty duo will kick start their All England Open doubles proceedings against Alexander Dunn & Adam Hall.
  • The Indian duo, who won the India Open, could face the world No 1 Kevin Sukamuljo and Marcus Gideon in the quarterfinals.
