By virtue of his brilliant performances this year, Laksya Sen will move up to No.11 in the BWF Rankings for the first time in his career. He is also set to become the highest-ranked Indian Male, displacing Kidambi Srikanth.
- The 20-year old Lakshya Sen finished 2021 on a high by clinching the bronze medal in the World Championships.
- He continued that momentum into 2022 by winning the Indian Open 2022, which was his third BWF Title.
- He then played the German Open and defeated World No.1 Viktor Axelsen to enter the final.
- However, he suffered a blister on his leg that restricted his movement in the final which contributed to his loss against Thailand’s Kunlavut Vitidsarn in straight sets. It remains to be seen whether Lakshya will be fully fit to play the All England Open.
