The World Cup winner will play for the Merseyside club next season. He has agreed on the contract which will be valid for the next five years. The Reds have offered the Argentine a contract till June 2028. The Anfield club will also pay the buyout clause in the upcoming days. Romano reports that Liverpool is going to pay around £60m.

Liverpool will make an official announcement in the next two days. His medical will also be done in the next 24 or 48 hours. The Reds finally made it possible to get the signature of the 24-year-old midfielder. The value of the clause remains uncertain. It’s just a reported number which could last reach £70m.
Earlier, Mac Allister’s cousin, Luciano Guaycochea gave a hint on this move, while speaking to Malaysian outlet Stadium Astro that “it’s close.”
He said, “I cannot say where he’s going to play, but I think everyone knows it’s close, to Liverpool. It’s a big team. But everywhere he goes, I hope he can play well.”
Jurgen Klopp would be pumped up after this deal as Liverpool were planning to sign a midfielder since January. They were going ahead for Jude Bellingham but due to financial reasons, they pulled out of the race. The Reds shifted their attention towards Chelsea’s Mason Mount but Man United came out as frontrunners to steal the deal. Alexis Mac Allister could be a great addition to Liverpool’s squad.
